There it is known as line-busting. Not surprisingly, The Seattle Times recently announced that Nordstom will soon let you pay for your purchases while you’re still in the dressing room!
Called “mobile checkout”, salespeople will have handheld checkout devices in their hands to scan your purchases. This allows the customer to avoid a wait at the cash register to check out.
Nordstrom has been testing the devices for a few weeks now and plans to have more than 5,000 salespeople carrying the new devices by the start of its Anniversary Sale this July. As predicted, technology continues to change the way retail conducts business.
