Our SQL based service management application, ServicePoint, is designed for use with either CounterPoint SQL from Radiant Systems or Great Plains from Microsoft Business Solutions.  The latest fully functional ServicePoint demos are available for download on our web site.

Recent ServicePoint developments include:

• Compatibility with CP 8.3.6 - As of version 9.2 build 79, ServicePoint is now compatible with CounterPoint SQL up through version 8.3.6.
• Metered equipment - ServicePoint now fully supports the tracking and service of equipment that records usage via meters.  This is especially useful in the office equipment/copier markets, but also has applications in the automotive industry or with equipment that tracks usage by hours.  Recording meter readings and billing by overage amounts is supported.  Multiple meters per machine can be set up, and usage can be determined by individual meter, equipment, or rolled up to an aggregate meter.
• Progress billing -  This set of enhancements allows the progress billing of work orders by selection of individual line items to bill and then the generation of an invoice for just the selected lines, leaving the work order open to complete any remaining work.  There is no limit to the number of times a work order can be split billed.
• Work order profit analysis - Another new report has been added to our arsenal of management tools.  Service history can be easily analyzed by various criteria within a given date range.  Profitability is broken down by labor, parts, and other charges, either in a detail or summary format.
• Client/Server install architecture - The ServicePoint installation routine now consists of two components, the ServicePoint Server install, and the ServicePoint Workstation client.  This allows patches and feature upgrades to be installed into a central location, reducing maintenance time and the possibility of errors.
• Work order credit memos - The new credit memo function reverses a previously invoiced work order.  Changes can be made to the credited work order and then re-billing is possible.  A full history of all transactions relating to work order billing is kept.
• Reassign work order charges - This new maintenance function allows the easy movement of work order line items between different service tasks.  Tasks can be searched and selected, and then grids displaying the line items for the chosen tasks are displayed.  Line items are then simply highlighted and moved between tasks.
• Full distribution journal reprint - We've added the ability to reprint all posting journal information for both work order and service contract postings done from ServicePoint.
• New options for work order reporting - Different formats now exist to allow printing of various levels of detail.  Options are included to allow, or disallow, the printing of notes and printing of cost information and profitability data.

Focus

We are always improving our flagship product, Focus.  New features and functionality are made even more valuable by our dedication to the maintenance for compatibility with our interfaced accounting platforms.  Focus items of note include:

• Version 8.4 - Focus version 8.4 is now shipping.  Look for it to be available on our website as a demo download for all platforms shortly.
• Job estimates - A new Focus service call status of "Estimate" has been made available in service call entry.  Entering an estimate will not immediately commit inventory quantities for any inventory parts attached.  After the estimate is accepted by the customer, changing the service call status will then properly allocate any inventory quantities from the inventory management system.
• Commissions by line - Service commissions are now available by line item.  Each labor line and part line can have a separate salesperson and commission amount assigned.

PartSmart!

We have developed an interface program for use with PartSmart.  This application creates a seamless interface from this popular electronic parts catalog and lookup program from ARI to CP SQL and ServicePoint.  PartSmart allows a user to call up diagrams and parts lists for equipment models.  Inventory levels can be checked for selected components, and parts pick lists can easily be created simply by dragging and dropping from the illustrated diagram.  Our interface program lets PartSmart retrieve inventory information from CounterPoint SQL, including item status information, quantities on hand, bin location, pricing, and more.  With the push of a button, a parts list created in PartSmart can be easily transferred to a CounterPoint order, or to a ServicePoint work order as task parts.
