What Are Web Slices?
In Internet Explorer 8 and newer Microsoft has added a number of new features and performance enhancements. One of the most useful to our customers is Web Slices. With this Browser Feature you can Subscribe to Automatic Notifications of the Updates we make to the CCS Website. These Slices are provided on a page by page basis.
Adding a Slice
A new ICON appears in the Browser Command Bar, and on the Web Page, when a Web Slice is available for you to use.
![]()
Using the Slices ICON creates a Link on your Browser Favorites Bar (formerly Links Bar). Clicking the Slice ICON brings up a subscription box. Clicking Adds this Slice to your Browser Favorites bar.

Viewing a Slice
When Updates are available for the Slice, you are now subscribed to, the Link is Automatically Bolded for you. Clicking the Link displays a Preview Window, with a Link to the Page containing the updated information. Very Easy and Very Powerful.
Note that the initial Preview display may be a partial glimpse, to see the entire preview pull the bottom right corner down and out. To go to the updated page on the Website click the arrow in the bottom left corner.

Configuring a Slice
Once added Slices can be configured to check for updates from 15 minutes to daily, weekly, or longer periods. Notification with a sound can be used to emphasize updates further.
